Ep 5 Social Media for Therapists: Attract New Clients & Build a Referral Network

Hey there!

Welcome to my blog post, where I’ll summarize the FTP Podcast’s fifth episode. In this episode, I’ll explore social media’s power as a marketing tool.

So let’s jump right in!

Social media platforms provide an excellent opportunity to establish credibility and showcase expertise. However, many people fear being seen and putting themselves out there.

But the truth is, social media is important for building relationships with your audience and expanding reach.

I’ll share some best practices to make the most of social media.

One key tip is to focus on one social media platform at a time. By doing so, you can give your full attention to creating high-quality content and engaging with your audience effectively.

Next, we’ll explore the different types of posts that work well on social media. Carousel and static posts are great for sharing multiple images or showcasing a product or service.

We’ll also discuss how to add captions to reels and the importance of including a call to action in social media posts.

Engaging with other people’s content is another crucial aspect of social media.

While sharing valuable information is important, remember not to engage with clients directly on social media. Instead, use social media as a platform to educate and inspire your audience.

We’ll then delve into the concept of content buckets, which are categories that help organize social media content. I have four main content buckets: educating people on EMDR and EMDR intensives, mom life, self-care, and complex PTSD and dissociation. I also touch on perinatal and postpartum issues frequently in my content.

Repurposing content is a great way to save time and maximize reach. I highlight the importance of using hashtags and share tips on repurposing content effectively.

If you’re looking for ideas for social media posts, follow and engage with other therapists you admire on social media. Observing and engaging with others in your field can inspire you and help you learn what works well.

Lastly, l discuss my Intensive coaching package and explore Instagram as a platform for therapists.

Social media is undoubtedly a powerful marketing tool, and by following these best practices, you can establish credibility and connect with your audience effectively.

So, pick a social media platform, develop your presence, and watch your therapy business thrive!
